TD Moving AverageThe TD Moving Average study (named after Tom Denmark) is designed to identify when to exit a trade or where to place stop loss orders.
Technical Analysis
An effort to forecast prices by analyzing market data, i.e. historical price trends and averages, volumes, open interest, etc.
Technical Correction
An adjustment to price not based on market sentiment but technical factors such as volume and charting.
Ted Spread
The difference between the price of the three-month US Treasury Bill futures contract and the price of the three-month Eurodollar time deposit futures contract with the same expiration month.
Thin market
A market condition in which trading volume and liquidity is low and in which usually bid and ask quotes are wider than normal.
Three Crows
Three Crows Japanese Candlestick formation consists of three relatively long consecutive red candlesticks which close near or below the previous days lows.
Tick
A minimum change in price, up or down.
Time-of-Day Order
This is an order that is to be executed at a given minute in the session.
Time Series Forecast
Also known as the moving linear regression indicator or the regression oscillator, the Time Series Forecast indicator illustrates the statistical trend of a security's price over a given time period. The trend is based on linear regression analysis. The Time Series Forecast plots the last point of multiple linear regression trendlines. The Time Series Forecast does not exhibit as much delay as a Moving Average when adjusting to price changes.
Tomorrow next (Tom next)
Simultaneous buying of a currency for delivery the following day and selling for the spot day or vice versa.
Trader
a professional speculator who trades for his own account and who typically holds exchange trading privileges.
Trade date
The date on which a trade occurs.
Trading Arcade
(1) A facility where locals or associates of a proprietary trading group can gather to trade on an electronic trading facility (especially if the exchange is all-electronic and there is no or ring); (2) a proprietary trading group that administers such a facility.
Trading Facility
A person or group of persons that provides a physical or electronic facility or system in which multiple participants have the ability to execute or trade agreements, contracts, or transactions by accepting bids and offers made by other participants in the facility or system.
Trading Floor
A physical trading facility where traders make bids and offers via open outcry or the specialist system.
Trading margin Excess/Deficit
Remaining funds against which a customer can open a new position(s) or increase the amount of an existing position(s) = Account Value – Margin. It is a function of the position size and the Profit and Loss on the existing position. It is represented graphically as the top of the “yellow” level in the FXDD Margin Monitor.
Trading Platforms
A software application where a client can give an order to execute a transaction on that customers behalf.
Transaction
The buying or selling of foreign exchange amount resulting from the execution of an order.
Transaction date
The date on which a trade occurs.
Treasury Bills (or T-Bills)
Short-term zero coupon US government obligations, generally issued with various maturities of up to one year.
Treasury Bonds (or T-Bonds)
Long-term (more than ten years) obligations of the US government that pay interest semiannually until they mature, at which time the principal and the final interest payment is paid to the investor.
Treasury Notes
Same as Treasury Bonds except that Treasury Notes are medium-term (more than one year but not more than ten years).
Treasury Securities
Treasury securities - including Treasury bills, notes, and bonds - are debt obligations issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Treasury securities are considered one of the safest investments because they are backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. The income from Treasury securities is exempt from state and local taxes, but not from federal taxes.
Trend
The general direction, either upward or downward, in which prices have been moving.
Trendline
In charting, a line drawn across the bottom or top of a price chart indicating the direction or trend of price movement. If up, the trendline is called bullish; if down, it is called bearish.
Triple Top
The Triple Top is a reversal pattern of an uptrend. Similar to the head and shoulders top, the pattern features three prominent peaks, however in the case of the Triple Top all three peaks are at roughly the same price level.
Two-Way Quote
When a dealer quotes a bid and ask price for foreign exchange transactions to a customer.
Two-Way Price
When both a bid and offer rate is quoted for a FX transaction.

Hi Blogger, oh dear, I'm getting sqaure eyed here - must have been spending too much time reading blogs and chart currency trading information. I'm supposed to be looking for chart currency trading items but I find it all too easy just to click 'Next' and just see anything which is how I came to this post. Well, Christmas is over and we're all getting ready for the new year and there aren't many trading days left. Although I'm still trying to grapple with where the dollar's headed next year. My feeling is that it's going to be much the same as this - all over the place, but possibly on the ascendant over the year, mainly due the instability in the Eurozone. And as for stocks, I think the safest thing is to stick to trading the indices. There's still too much downward pressure.
I'm personally bullish on dollar and oil futures, although I'm in for the long haul.
